CRITIQUES
Max:
A Good Friend -- depth of field works well, degree of blur in background
is just right -- gives just enough information to know what's in the
background, but isn't distracting.
Bianca:
a2beam.jpg
-- light lining chin is perfect (defines chin perfectly).
a3shannonhead.jpg
-- use of flash picks up highlight in eyes and jewelery (sparkle is
nice), but gives the overall photo a very harsh appearance.
George:
peter_zoom.jpg -- shadow from the nose covers eyes--could be removed
by using a fill-in flash.
Megan:
crazyjen1.jpg
-- large depth of field allows the reflections in the lenses to be sharp
giant, distorted nose adds character to the picture.
Mandy:
21.jpg
-- faces of the people in the background are washed out--we need to
see more detail.
27.jpg
-- what is the story? if the main subject was the laundry, it should
have more of a presence.
Hai:
1.jpg -- there is no use of depth of field, so the background interrupts
the main subject (no separation between the foreground and background).
2.jpg
-- more focus is on the subject and there is a sense of mood.
Adrienne:
cave girl -- filling in the hole with sister was a good compositional
move (otherwise there would be too much washed out background).
tree
-- the abstraction is interesting.
Christine:
hats of to you -- great lighting; natural light coming in from behind,
through the glass gives a full, yet softened lighting situation.
the
girl -- good texture and contrast.
Jie:
Sekhar Flora -- perfect amount of blur in background.
