Discussion Schedule

Each discussion will be taught by a TA and have a course tutor present to help out in small groups. To amortize TA/tutor prep time, some discussions will be taught by different TAs/tutors in alternating weeks. Some TAs will teach in odd-numbered weeks, while others teach in even-numbered weeks. The week numbers are on the homepage. Discussions start week 1. There is no discussion in week 0.

We highly encourage students to attend discussions every week. The material in discussion is required and our support for it online for people who did not attend will be minimal at best. Working through problems is the best way to learn this material. You cannot learn deep learning by simply reading about it or watching lectures. You need to practice solving problems.

Office Hours

Office hours will prioritize conceptual questions, but we will try our best to help all students as much as possible! Feel free to come with homework questions, and also you are welcome to come to the OH room to just work on the HW, find study groups, etc. We will have very limited office hours. There is zero support for individualized tutoring. Students are expected to learn from lecture and discussion (as well as ask questions in person there) as well as on their own and with their study groups. The place to get help with the HW is primarily HW Party, and secondarily, online.
