Locate the path where you have downloaded the Berkeley STk distribution.
Double click STk-ucb1.3.6.exe to start the installation.
If you get the following UAC dialog window, please click on the Allow button.
Click the Yes button to continue the installation of STk
The extraction process now happens.
If the extraction process completes without error you should now see the cygwin install window.
If you get the following dialog box, please click on This program installed correctly
To complete the stk install under vista you must also apply the vistafix.
After double clicking on vistafix.exe please click on the Allow button in the UAC dialog window.
Again if you get the following dialog window, please click on This program installed correctly.
This is what you should see when you double click on the cygwin icon on your desktop.
At the command prompt you will be typing one of the following:
/usr/local/share/stk/setup-stk explorin.
or /usr/local/share/stk/setup-stk simply.
Now double click on the new startx icon on your desktop.
If you get the windows firewall dialog, please click on Keep blocking button.
If X-windows is runing you will see the X on the bottom right hand corner.
Your ready to run emacs
Emacs should now be running and you can run stk by hitting the following keys on your keyboard Esc-s.
