in the class for this chapter. They are: G. P. Agrawal,
"Fiber-Optic Communication Systems," chapter 3 (a good
overview). Agrawal & Dutta, "Semiconductor Lasers,"
chapter 6 (detail accounts for the previous reference). P. S. Zory,
"Quantum Well Lasers," chapter 5 (concise but well-written).
Coldren & Corzine, "Diode lasers and photonic integrated
circuits," chapter 5 (same level as Agrawal's book).
