EE 230 Solid State Principles for Applied Science and Technology

Topics include: the relationship between solid state properties and symmetry, general characteristics of periodic structures and energy bands in particular; and finite structures such as reduced dimensional lattices. Also discussed are: mechanical effects such as phonons and their role in coherent and incoherent carrier transport, recombination, and electromagnetic properties.
