Project Grading Guidelines

We will broaden the scope of applications considered in the class by asking each student to identify a sequence of papers in the literature that applies electromagnetic theory to a device of current interest. The assignment is to sumarrize these papers and the electromagnetice techniques that are utilized in a 10 minute class presentation.

Perturbational method for programmed or accidental irregularities in photonic crystal structures.
Leaky wave coupling of optical signals
Plasmon excitation efficiency
Plasmon tunneling devices efficiency
Omega-beta diagrams for guided waves on layers with periodic imperfections
