Midterm I will be Wednesday, October 10, 2001, 6:00-7:30pm in Sibley Auditorium. It covers everything from Phasors to MOS Capacitors (Lectures 1-13, HW 1-5).
In preparation for the first midterm, office hours will be as follows:
Lecture on Wed. 10/10 has been cancelled, and the Tuesday (10/9) 11-12 and Wednesday (10/10) 3-4 discussions will not meet. Extra office hours have been scheduled in their place as listed above.
Review session for the midterm will be in 277 Cory on Monday, October 8 from 6-7:30pm. We will hand out and review the solutions to the sample midterm.
For those of you (and only these people) who cannot make the regularly scheduled exam time, a make-up has been set for Wednesday, October 10, 2001; 3:30-5:00pm, 476 Cory.
For problem 3, only do part a. The lecture will not have sufficiently covered the material for parts (b) and (c), so these will be delayed until HW7.
In the solutions handed out in class on Wed 26 Sept, the answer given for problem 2b is incorrect. This answer does not account for the reverse-biased pn-junction in the active-to-substrate region, and so to correct this, the answer in the solutions should be divided by a factor as given in equation 3.80 of the text. The online solutions will reflect this change when they get posted. Sorry for the confusion.
NO LAB NEXT WEEK!! Good luck on the midterm. Lab write-up for lab 4 will be due at the beginning of next lab meeting (lab 5). We will also have our first lab quiz at the beginning of next lab.
