Japheth Wong I'm currently a senior in EECS from Cupertino, CA. For the past few summers, I have interned at Facebook, Veeva Systems, and Symantec respectively. I love traveling and am interested in (but not very good at) photography. I studied abroad in Scotland last fall and thoroughly enjoyed my experience -- yes, it is possible to do that despite being a CS or EECS major.

Ajeya Cotra I'm a second-year EECS major interested in cognitive science and linguistics. I was a TA for CS 61A over the summer and am currently TAing in the fall as well! I absolutely loved 70 with Sahai last semester and am really excited to be involved in the course and help out this semester.

Barak Gila I'm Barak, second-year EECS student, born in Israel and raised in Cupertino. I participated in math competitions, from Mathcounts in middle school to the AMCs later on, and taking CS 70 last semester brought back fond memories of those :) Last summer, I was a web dev intern for Gogobot. I'm also interested in economics and cognitive science. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing the saxophone, cooking, and traveling.

Jackson Chang I am a second-year undergraduate studying Eclair Engineering, Custard Science, and EECS. I look forward to interacting with you all, either in person, online, or through your work. Feel free to come talk to me about math, computer science, games, anime, or anything fun!

Email: jackson.chang@berkeley.edu
Leah Dickstein I am a second-year undergraduate studying Chemical Biology (but I take EECS classes.) I come from Fremont, CA and, growing up in the bay, I have a deep love for milk tea/being a foodie. I also teach Knitting 101 DeCal and I like hair dyeing.

Internships/Research: I spent my summer (and am continuing in the fall) doing research with Professor Sahai and Gireeja Ranade. I study the effect of delay in control systems, which is a subset of communication and information theory. I'm totally doing it because I fell in love with CS70 last semester, and throughout the course you'll learn the basic tools needed for this kind of research! As a side note, I've also had an internship in plant molecular biology so talk to me if you like gene cloning or RNA extraction.

Mike Zhong W 4-5pm in Soda 751 I'm Mike Zhong, and I'm a second year student studying physics and cognitive science. I'm from San Jose, CA, and have lived in the Silicon Valley nearly all my life. At the moment, I am working in the Theunissen Lab, conducting research in the acoustics and psychology of the timbre of different instruments. Feel free to come talk to me about anything music (particularly jazz, hip-hop, funk!), language, the brain, mathematics, and then some more!

Shu Li I am a third-year undergraduate studying math and computer science. I am a huge fan of soccer and a HUGE fan of dogs. I also love trying out all kinds of different restaurants and exploring the menus. I interned at a financial services firm over the summer and I was also working at the Berkeley International Office for a long time out of my interest in international studies.

Davis Foote I'm a second-year undergrad studying EECS and math. No internships or research yet, but over the summer I was a TA for CS 61A. I grew up in Gainesville, Florida where I played guitar in a couple progressive rock/metal bands (https://soundcloud.com/davis-foote) and did a lot of math. Most of my time now is split between those two things and programming. I loved 70 and I'm really excited to be helping out this semester!

Alexander Irpan I'm a third-year undergraduate in Computer Science but I've taken some upper div math courses as well because I like math. I read for CS 70 last spring, and took it the spring before that. Last summer, I interned at Facebook, and this semester I'm planning to do research with Pieter Abbeel in AI. My hobbies are playing video games, speedrunning video games, and reading a little too much web fiction and fan fiction. Feel free to talk with me about how you feel about the course - I have fairly strong opinions on the "right" way to learn in theory-leaning courses and I'd welcome the chance to talk about it.

Max Kanwal M 10-11am in 504 Cory Hi! I am a second-year EECS major originally from northern Virginia, near Washington, D.C. While I was born in the U.S., both of my parents are actually from northern India (surprise!). This past summer I went back to the east coast to do research at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering in Radhika Nagpal's lab at Harvard University. During the academic year I will be continuing research in Professor Jack Gallant's computational neuroscience lab. After graduating, I fully intend on going to grad school to pursue my interests in applying signal processing, artificial intelligence, and machine learning techniques towards better understanding the human brain, in addition to developing novel AI algorithms based on theoretical neuroscience.
