WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? WHAT WAS YOUR ACADEMIC PATH? I've lived my entire life moving around the Bay Area, though I've been in the East Bay for over a decade now. Cal lifer: B.S. in MechE & EECS, M.S. in EECS, Ph.D. in EECS -- with a 1 yr stop at Lockheed Martin between undergrad and grad school. Currently a postdoc and lecturer. HOW MUCH PROGRAMMING HAVE YOU DONE (& WHAT LANGUAGES)? Started waaaaaaaaay back in jr. high. I got some basic programs on my trusty TI-83+ from another student and just started dabbling with that. Learned C++ in AP Comp Sci in high school, then a bunch of different languages in college. I'm currently most comfortable with MATLAB (mechE,research), C (cs61c), MIPS (cs61c), and Snap! (cs10). WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES? Ultimate Frisbee Singing (a cappella) Running Badminton Board Games Hiking/Camping/Backpacking WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR TALENTS AND SKILLS? I am decently dexterous with my left hand (use chopsticks and throw a Frisbee). I can solve a few variants of the Rubik's Cube (I am NOT a speedcuber). HAVE YOU DONE ANYTHING REMARKABLE? HAS ANYTHING MEMORABLE HAPPENED TO YOU? So I have this story that involves kayaking, sea lions, a long night on a rock beach, a helicopter, and the coast guard... =P I have run a marathon.
