WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? WHAT WAS YOUR PATH TO CAL? I was born in Surrey, England but mostly grew up in San Diego, California. I worked hard in high school and was fortunate enough to be accepted into Berkeley. I came to Cal intending to study business but preferred the people and material in my technical classes and I am now deciding between majoring in applied math with a CS minor or just majoring in CS. HOW MUCH PROGRAMMING HAVE YOU DONE (& WHAT LANGUAGES)? I only really started programming when I came to Berkeley. I'm mostly comfortable with Python, Java, C, HTML/CSS/Javascript, MIPS, and have recently picked up ARM assembly. WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES? I enjoy playing racquetball and hiking. I also really enjoy cooking and watching cooking shows (Masterchef and Food Network Star are my guilty pleasures!). I am a HUGE Liverpool FC fan and I love discussing soccer news with people or trash talking Manchester United. WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR TALENTS & SKILLS? I did a lot of stand up comedy in high school but haven't done any since then (61B sapped any humor I had left). I'm also a black belt in Taekwondo and used to compete in lots of sparring competitions (it's been a while though!). HAVE YOU DONE ANYTHING REMARKABLE? HAS ANYTHING MEMORABLE HAPPENED TO YOU? In high school my robotics team placed second in the world at an international competition! I have also performed at the San Diego Symphony as part of a chorus. WHAT COMMITMENTS WILL BE CONSUMING YOUR CYCLES THIS SEMESTER? I'll also be lab assisting for this class so say hi if you see me in your labs! Otherwise im auditing a few classes and studying up for technical interviews next semester. I've also started working on a simple OS for the Raspberry Pi along with hacking away at various side projects that i'll probably never fully finish.
