What was your academic path? (e.g. Did you live in the same town all your life or did you move around; and if so, where? Did you go to community college or another school before this one?) I grew up in Los Angeles, spent some years traveling the States, Europe, and South America. I finally dedicated myself to academics, and transfered from El Camino College in the LA area, intending on an Applied Math degree, but decided to add a CS degree once I got to Berkeley. --> How much programming have you done (and what languages)? In order of preference, I have programmed in the languages Python, Java, C/C++, Android, Mathematica, Matlab. I also have experience with Unix and Linux, and IDE's like Eclipse. Favorite course so far: CS 188 (Artificial Intelligence) --> What are your hobbies? Aside from all that is computer and math related, I enjoy camping, hiking, playing and writing music, hot sauces (will challenge anyone), LA Kings and LA Dodgers (Giants suck). --> What are some of your talents and skills? Playing guitar, piano, harmonica. I am also great at making awkward situations more awkward. --> Have you done anything remarkable? Has anything really memorable happened to you? (e.g. travel, meeting famous people, 15 min of fame, inventions, overcoming adversity, etc.) Travelling mentioned above, played in a band for 7 years, hiked the Inca Trail (28 miles @ 10-15K feet altitude) to Machu Picchu. --> What commitments will be consuming your cycles this term? (e.g. classes, jobs, family, commutes, volunteering, sports, student groups, etc.) So far just TA'ing this class, may pick up a part time job if time permits.
