/============\ | Homework 0 | \============/ Name: Albert Forte Magyar Login: cs61c-tb E-mail: albert.magyar@berkeley.edu Section: 101 Mini-Biography: ============== --> Where did you grow up? What was your academic path? I have lived in a few places in my life so far. I was born in 1990 in Santa Monica, California, but I moved to Toronto, Canada at age two. Since then, I've lived in the LA area, Orange County, and now the Bay Area. This will be the summer after my fifth year here in Berkeley, and I am (still) very happy to be here at Cal. --> How much programming have you done (and what languages)? I am not quite sure how to set the boundary for 'a lot of programming' when I am still very young, but I have been working with computer programming for approximately seven years. I worked in RTL design for imaging ASICs (at Ambarella, Inc), where I developed frameworks for automating HDL code generation using XML specifications and scripting languages, so I have spent a lot of time with Verilog, SystemVerilog, and Perl. I also spent a great deal of time working with Verilog and embedded C programs as a TA for CS150. In classes and in other projects, I have worked mostly with C++, Java, and MATLAB. --> What are your hobbies? I swam 5 days a week for most of my life before coming to college, so I was far from eager to get into any swimming pools for my first four years at Berkeley. However, in the past half year I have started swimming most days, and it has once again become one of my favorite hobbies. I also mountain biking in Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland at least a couple of times per week. --> What are some of your talents and skills? I like to think I can cook pretty well, but I eat out a lot these days. I'm also pretty good at Mario Kart 64, despite having no experience or skill in any other video games. --> Have you done anything remarkable? Has anything really memorable happened to you? (e.g. travel, meeting famous people, 15 min of fame, inventions, overcoming adversity, etc.) I am a citizen of three countries: the United States, Canada, and Hungary. --> What commitments will be consuming your cycles this term? (e.g. classes, jobs, family, commutes, volunteering, sports, student groups, etc.) I will be working 5-10 hours a week on nuclear engineering research projects I've been involved in. No student groups, though, since I'm hardly a student anymore!
