Where did you grow up? What was your academic path? (e.g. Did you live in the same town all your life or did you move around; and if so, where? Did you go to community college or another school before this one?) I grew up in SF and went to Lowell High School before Cal. Pretty much stayed there all my life until I moved to Berkeley (I still go back every weekend). How much programming have you done (and what languages)? I started programming in a CS class in high school. We learned a semester of C++, and a year and a half of Java. I learned C in 61C, Python in 188, did more C++ in 184, and more Java in 162 and for research now. I learned Javascript and PHP from an internship. What are your hobbies? My hobbies change pretty often. I used to play some ping pong, some badminton, and Go. Now I play some SC2 when I have time. I've also been reading the series A Song of Ice and Fire. What are some of your talents and skills? Managing time (though I've been getting a little overwhelmed recently). Getting enough sleep. Have you done anything remarkable? Has anything really memorable happened to you? (e.g. travel, meeting famous people, 15 min of fame, inventions, overcoming adversity, etc.) The winter before last, I went to LA with a bunch of friends. Coincidentally, we walked by the premiere for the "Green Hornet" and saw Jay Chou from a roof of some mall (the back of his head and gloves). What commitments will be consuming your cycles this term? (e.g. classes, jobs, family, commutes, volunteering, sports, student groups, etc.) Definitely most of my time will be spent on 61C. I'm also doing some work for research. I'll be commuting back to SF every weekend to see friends and family. I'm also taking an online course but it's ending soon.
