Where did you grow up? What was your academic path? I grew up in socal's San Fernando Valley, moving to the nearby city of Agoura Hills during middle school. Although I knew I wanted to do something computer science related, I entered Cal as an engineering undeclared, finally switching to EECS during my second year. How much programming have you done (& what languages)? My first programs were written on a TI83-plus in high school, mostly during my other classes. My current knowledge aligns with the EECS curriculum, and includes C, Java, Python, Scheme, Matlab, and some shell scripting. I'm a bit of a Java fanboy, but possibly only because I've had the most experience in that language. A confession: I have never completely learned C++ What are your hobbies? I enjoy playing golf (albeit terribly), and have dabbled in online Go. I'm also a particular fan of "roguelike" computer games - from nethack to Doom: The Roguelike, I've played them all. What are some of your talents & skills? I'm known to be a pretty good gamer, and have certainly had the practice. Have you done anything remarkable? Has anything really memorable happened to you? I've TA'd cs164 under professor Hilfinger. Twice. What commitments will be consuming your cycles this term? In addition to TAing for this class, I'm looking into taking Cellphones as a Computing Platform with Prof. Brewer, and perhaps a course on Bayesian Modeling. I also plan to conclude my long and belabored process of finding an advisor.
