Outline

The midterm be held Tuesday 11/20/2007 in 2050 VLSB from 7-9pm. It will cover all course material through lecture on Friday 11/9 (including the introduction to caches!). The exam will be open book and open notes, but no electronic devices or talking will be allowed. You will have assigned seating, please remember your Cal Student ID card. We will again have randomly assigned seating.

If you have a conflict with the exam time, you must let us know ASAP.  We make no promises of help, though we'll try to be reasonable.  Any non-emergency (e.g. car accident or family death) conflicts we hear about after the review session (on 11/16) will be your responsibility, and problem.

You will find the style of questions on our exams closely matches the quizzes and homeworks you have seen so far, and we highly suggest that you study your code side-by-side with our solutions.

The solution, and grading key are now availible.  An explanation of our grading system, along with your score has been sent to your course e-mail. If you did not receive such an e-mail, contact us immediately. Exam summary statistics have also been posted.

Review

Course Review

• We will be holding a review session Friday 11/16/2007 from 4-7pm in 2040 VLSB.
• We will not be providing dinner, since this review only goes until 7pm, also because we could not find a room which was food friendly.
• This review will be much shorter, and will consist of us covering homework, quiz and project solutions at a whiteboard. We will only cover those assignments you ask us to.
• We will bring some additional high level open ended questions that cover most of the material from the middle of this class. These will be worked in small groups, most likely towards the end of the review.
• We have no intention to lecture in any form (unless you all demand it), it was very boring during the Exam1 review.

HKN Review

HKN will be holding their review from Sunday 11/18/2007 5-7pm in the Woz.
