WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? WHAT WAS YOUR PATH TO CAL? I was born in San Jose and moved to Fremont during second grade. I attended Mission San Jose High School and decided to follow in my brother's footsteps to the LAND OF THE GOLDEN BEARS, although honestly, I had no idea what I wanted as a major. However, I knew what I did not want to do, so I narrowed my choices and took a myriad of classes during my first semester, one of which was CS3! The awesomeness of the class persuaded me to become a CS major, and, well, we'll see what happens afterwards :) HOW MUCH PROGRAMMING HAVE YOU DONE (& WHAT LANGUAGES)? In high school, I created cool little programs on my TI-83+ (which is probably outdated now) for SAT problems. Since then, I have learned Java, C, Python, VBScript, and some other languages. I think I'll be focusing on Java as my primary programming language of choice and Python as my scripting language of choice. WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES? CAL football, guitar, piano, and spending a little too much time on Smash Brothers. I used to play a ton of video games (all of the FFs, Diablo II, Starcraft, Warcraft III ROC, Tekken 5, etc...), but recently my interests have started shifting to other things, like figuring out what I want to do for the rest of my life :P WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR TALENTS & SKILLS? I've played the piano for several years now, and I decided to learn the guitar during my freshman year of college. I'm not particularly good at either instrument because I don't practice enough, but they're still fun nonetheless. HAVE YOU DONE ANYTHING REMARKABLE? HAS ANYTHING MEMORABLE HAPPENED TO YOU? I shouted "GO BEARS!" in Dan's 61c lecture before, and he got pumped up enough to make one side of the room shout "GO!" and the other side shout "BEARS!" for three iterations. It's somewhere on webcast, which is great for (pre|re)viewing courses. It's _not_ a good substitute for going to lecture, though! http://webcast.berkeley.edu/ WHAT COMMITMENTS WILL BE CONSUMING YOUR CYCLES THIS SEMESTER? Since this is my last semester at Berkeley, I'm taking a lighter load of courses and focusing more of my energy on figuring out what to do after I graduate. I plan to study Artificial Intelligence in graduate school immediately after I attain my undergraduate degree, but I also have an interest in Computer Security. I'll also be looking for an internship and spending a lot of time in hibernate mode.
