Dec 16: Your final score used for grading is computed as follows:
- We have taken best 3 out of 4 homeworks.
- Homeworks contribute 20% towards your final score.
- Midterm contributes 30% towards your final score.
- Project contributes 50% towards your final score.
- Your project score has been scaled based on peer evaluation.
- The scaling factor has been computed by taking the ratio of your average score and the median average score of your team.
- We have added some bonus points for active class participation.

Dec 16: Grades for homework-5 and final presentation are available now.
Dec 12: Solution for homework 5 is up.
Dec 12: Homework 5 has been graded. If you haven't collected your graded sheet yet, please collect it from Pallavi during her office hour today (3-4 pm in Soda 651), or after the final demo.
Dec 10: Final demos will take place in Soda 380. Please return the G1 phone after the demo.

Dec 8: Please complete the the teammate evaluation form by Dec 10th. It is mandatory to complete the form. The results will be shared with your teammates but the person submitting will remain anonymous. This is the final form and the results will be used to weigh each teammate's grades for the project.
Dec 5: proj7 deadlines have been extended. You now have to email the updated design and requirements documents and instructions to download/install/run your code to your testing team by 11am on Dec 8. The testing report for proj7 is due at 11pm on Dec 12.
Dec 4: If your requirements and design documents have changed since proj5, please send them too to your testing team along with the instructions to download/install/run your code.
Dec 3: proj7 has been posted. Its submission deadline is 12/10, 11pm. By 6pm on December 5, you have to send an email to the team who had reviewed your project with complete instructions on how to download/install/run your code. Please cc the TA in charge of your project.
Dec 1: There is no final exam on 17th December. The final demo is the final exam for this course.
Dec 1: Schedule a 30 minute slot for the final demo on 15th December (between 11 am and 3 pm). Please send pallavi@eecs.berkeley.edu an email to schedule your demo.
Dec 1: Guest lecture by Tim Mattson today in class. Attendance is mandatory. We have a grade of 1 point for attendance.

Nov 20: Midterm papers have been graded. Collect them from Pallavi Joshi on Friday (11/21) between 3-4pm at Soda 651.

- Sample solution for midterm is here. This also gives the break-up of scores for individual parts in questions. Please refer to this before you request rechecks.
- In case of recheck requests, meet the TAs after class on Monday. You can alternatively send a mail to pallavi@eecs or yamini@eecs.
Nov 20: Please sign up for the G1 phone here. A team can borrow it for only a day. After all teams have used the phone for a day each, we will have a second round when teams can borrow the phone again for a second time.
Nov 19: Grades for homework-4 are available now! Graded copies of homework-4 were given out in class today. In case you have re-check questions, send a mail to yamini@eecs. For anybody who did not collect their homework today, it will be returned in class on Monday.

Nov 12: Solution for homework-4 will be put up tonight. In case you haven't mailed them yet, e-mail your solutions by 11pm today. Beyond 11pm, your solutions will not be considered and you will be given zero.

Nov 6: Guest Lecture Schedule [Attendance is mandatory. We have a grade of 1 point for attendance during guest lectures!]:
- 11/19: Lecture by Dr. Sumant Kowshik from Coverity, on static analysis and its impact on the software industry.
- 12/1: Dr. Tim Mattson from Intel will complete his lecture on 12/1. He will give us more information about the problems and challenges that the software industry will be facing in the next few years due to the multi-core revolution.
Nov 4: [Tentative Guest Lecture Schedule] Lecture on 11/19 will be given by a guest from Coverity, a startup that develops powerful static analysis tools. Attendance is mandatory.
Oct 30: Please complete the teammate evaluation form by Wednesday November 5th, 2008. It is mandatory to complete the form. We have a grade of 1 point for form submission. The results will be shared with your teammates but the person submitting will remain anonymous. The results will let you know how you are doing in the group and what you can do to improve.

Oct 22: Submission date for hw3 has been extended till Thursday. New submission date for hw3 is October 30, 1pm. Please email your solutions to cs169@cory.eecs.berkeley.edu. Note: Late Policy will be strictly enforced. You will lose 0.5% of the score for an assignment, for each hour it is late.

Oct 13: The svn accounts have been set up. Each team can access their svn account by going to the following URL: https://isvn.eecs.berkeley.edu/cs169/groupX, where X is your group number. You will need your class account username and password to log in.
