Software

The Allegro CL 7.0 Trial Edition is available from Franz, Inc. It should be compatible with the software on the instructional machines, but we make no guarantees. If you cannot get Allegro (modern mode) to work for you, you may try one of the other systems for which we can precompile code. Note that ultimately your codes must work on the instructional cluster, so make sure you regularly save to and test on your instructional account.

We strongly recommend that you use Emacs together with whatever Common Lisp environment you choose. We use Allegro's Emacs Lisp Interaction (ELI) mode and the Superior Lisp Interaction Mode for Emacs (SLIME).
